Have you ever gone to the gym to work out, and seen the people who get all dressed up to the nines just to sweat and work out? Or even worse, the people who get all dressed up to look their best and then dont even lift a weight? Along with them are the types of people who go all out, and get the weight lifting gear; the weight belts, wrist straps, and gloves only to throw the weights around and yell funny noises. The worst is when you get a group of about eleven people, all working out together, doing the same exercises, occupying every single bench, and seat in order to "rest" while all of their friends do the same exercise. Split up! There is no need for all of you to be doing the same exercise, at the same time; go into groups of two or three and rotate through your routine. I am all about going to the gym, getting into shape, and being healthy. But when you go there just to hang out, or try and play the role of a "gym-rat" when you have no idea what you are doing, then you just look foolish. People should go to the gym, work out, and get out of there. If you have personal aspirations to be a trainer, a fitness model, a body builder, or simply want to loose some unwanted weight, it is worth the time, and effort to learn how to work out safely, and correctly. Take the time to read a book, watch a video, take a class, or ask for help; and please, for all of us, SHUT-UP when you lift the weights. There is no point, and no benefit what so ever to the excessive grunting, yelling, and obscure noises you feel may be necessary to lift a weight. As the fitness industry continues to grow, the amount of people who pile into gyms will also grow. I am interested in hearing the opinions of others, regarding the type of people in the gym, and feelings about other aspects of the gym.
